Applying IT to Environment

Environment, especially Sustainable Environment is very close to Envision IT’s heart. Under the aegis of Darebin City Council, we developed the Green Travel Program that was later extended to Rideshare (carpooling). The program was devised to workplaces and often considered for implementation by Welfare /HR Managers. We therefore clubbed our offering to Environment & HR.

Envision IT now offers the following solutions for Sustainable Environment and HR:

• Going Places - Going Places is recent addition to our Environment products portfolio. It takes the Green Travel Program a step further by making it happen enterprise-wide. The program promotes sustainable travel in enterprises, corporate, government departments, businesses and others across the enterprise. It collects data from end users that is fed up the chain in a decided manner. Users are able to send messages that can be moderated to make it a community happening. Users and various groups in the enterprise get to see their contribution to environment on their 'home pages' that acts as a primary stimulus. Besides, the program covers a 'rewards' program to recognise individuals who contribute to its effectiveness.

• Envision Carpooling – The program first developed for Darebin City Council is now available for implementation of Carpooling in workplaces in Australia, New Zealand and the US. Carpooling in workplaces a real and practical way to promote sustainable environment while reducing fatigue and petrol costs for users and increasing bonhomie and togetherness. The program is User based and in this, users register for the program and find matches themselves. Administrative controls are available for managing and measuring the program performance.

• Envision Green Travel – Envision Green Travels offers companies an easy way to implement and measure sustainable environment initiatives such as the promotion of green modes of travel. Green modes of travel are defined as walking, Cycling, public transport or carpooling. This is a rewards based program that sits on Internet or Intranet. The program is Administrator centric and offers comprehensive but easy to use utilities for measurement and reporting.

• TravelSmart Carpooling – Promoted by TravelSmart Victoria, the program offers a pro-active carpool matching facility to carpool administrator in a workplace. The program requires interested users to register in it. The Program manager then makes the searches and informs users about the matches. Users now talk to the matching participants for making carpools.

• Time-Sheets & Payroll – While Time-sheet management is time-consuming, payroll is a sensitive issue. We offer to automate time-sheet filing into payroll in a fully automated process. This is helpful when payrolls are processed at central locations after collating data from various locations. At locations, the forwarding managers have easy utilities to manipulate timesheets to keep payroll as per budget with a history for them to update. Easier than MS Excel, this a must solution for HR/Payroll people.

• Specialised HR Solutions – These are Internet/Intranet based solutions developed to specific requirements of HR. They may involve add on utilities for extra functionality to automation of report filing and access. From employees perspective, we offer easy and non- interfering utility to offer employees information specific to them such as leave status, payroll, timesheets etc. that are collated locally or centrally or both.

• Training – We offer a comprehensive portfolio of trainings for IT such as Microsoft, Cisco and for office employees, MS Office i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point and MS Project. The trainings are available on regular basis and a custom courses as well.
