Overview
 The 'Carpooling' program is an off shoot from Envision Green Travel Program (EGT) which was developed in 2003 at the initiative of Darebin City Council, Victoria, Australia. To enable EGT users find matches to share a ride, the program functionality was expanded with a 'Rideshare' or 'Carpooling' program. It provided a much needed utility to Envision Green Travel participants to find carpool matches within the workplace. Impressed with its concept and practicality, we launched the program as an independent product for the benefit of workplaces and communities. Today, Envision Carpooling is the only carpooling product sold in world on a pure commercially sustainable basis. This vouches for its quality, ease of use and highly affordable cost of ownership. With this product, carpooling is no longer a dream. It is a practical and tangible utility.
 Compared to EGT, Rideshare or Envision Carpooling is a program designed for users. The program helps in participants to register and find matches themselves. The Envision Carpooling Program frees Carpooling Managers and Administrators to carry many other essential tasks and promotion of of the program. TravelSmart Carpooling is a proactive variant of Envision Carpooling program that offers workplaces an opportunity to proactively establish Carpooling Program with the Carpooling Manager.
 Both Envision Carpooling and TravelSmart Carpooling are fully customisable programs and come with workplace / community logo. The fonts, colours of the program can be changed to match workplace intranets. It is also possible to change text such as legal & disclaimer as per workplace / community policy. The programs can be easily installed on workplace / community Intranets or on Internet. Should it be required and done for some valued patrons, the program can be hosted by us on servers in the US or Australia.
The program is currently available for all states in Australia, US and New Zealand.
Envision Carpooling Program
 The Envision Carpooling Program is a fully functional, real and working program for workplaces, factories, City councils, offices and communities. The program works on the premise that its intended users follow almost the same travel travel habits i.e. to a common destination and about the same time. In addition to above, the program relies on basic level of confidence that fellow workmates or community enjoys. These two factors increases chances of finding carpool matches, much more than any other program.
Contrary to perception, Carpooling is a very practical preposition. Its success however depends a lot on the promoters and once the initial inertia is over, the program becomes a self sustaining entity, with minimal management / administrative intervention. The program is successfully deployed in the Darebin City Council, Maribyrnong City Council, Laurimar Community, and many others such as DIER Tasmania under implementation
. The program can be expanded to form 'bike buddies'' train buddies' etc. to encourage sustainable modes of travel. The program offers the following benefits::

Envision Carpooling is a web-based program that is installed either on the workplace Intranet or Internet. To participate, employees / people register into it with a password of their choice. The registration also requires 'Street Directory' reference that is used to calculate distances while making searches. Option for Address based search is available but the addresses are not published to maintain privacy. Other details include smoking, driving preferences and special comments, if any
Upon successful registration, users get a Username. Participants use this username along with their chosen password to find matches. This is an online utility and does not require intervention from the carpooling manager or administrator. The searches can be made using the default criteria (entered while registering) or new profiles. Many a times changing profiles such as increasing distance or driving preferences helps increase chances of finding a match. Once suitable matches are found, the participant need to contact them to work out finer arrangements such as cost sharing, pick up / drop off point, exigent criteria, emergency numbers etc.
The carpooling manager is empowered with administrative utilities to run the program effectively and view its smooth progress. It also enables the program manager to purge unused records, create reports and many other functions, essential to run a carpooling program effectively and flawlessly. The program frees carpooling manager ample time to carry out more important activities such as devising and running promotions.

TravelSmart Carpooling Program
 TravelSmart objective is to create sustainable environment awareness and reduce car traffic thereby easing congestion, car parking and reducing green house emissions. Developed under the aegis of ''TravelSmart Victoria', TravelSmart Carpooling provides a proactive product for promoting Carpooling Program in Workplaces. It differentiates itself from Envision Carpooling program in the sense that in TravelSmart Carpooling, Users are not allowed to make searches. The searches instead are conducted by the Carpooling Administrator who advices participants about their potential matches.
TravelSmart Carpooling is an excellent utility at workplaces who wish to proactively promote the carpooling program and being in the know of outcomes. It adds a human touch to otherwise a fully automated system. It allows participant information on a very strict 'need to know' basis that is welcomed by workplaces.
'TravelSmart Victoria' promotes the program and product in Victoria and it is also sold by Envision IT. It can be used a fully functional product or develop a proof of concept for onward migration to Envision Carpooling Program. TravelSmart Carpooling is most deployed product in our Carpooling portfolio. It is successfully deployed it in RACV, DHS, Alinta, Connell Wagner, City of Port Philip etc. and is in the process to deploy at many more workplaces within the Melbourne CBD.
